'in the connection tab, click the browse button to search for your database, once you've found it, click ok. Once you're back on the connection tab, delete everything but your database name. Once you've done this, click the "check connection" button and you should get the confirmation

'there you go, now no matter where your app is installed, the database should work, it also works when you're working on your app, but ONLY if you open from the folder you have it (e.g. c:\windows\desltop\my program)if you open your project directly from vb it won't work.
